CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Your knife comes oiled with food grade mineral oil. Before its first use, gently wash with dish soap and warm water.
  • To clean, gently wash with dish soap and warm water using a soft sponge or rag.  Avoid using scouring pads or other abrasives.
  • Wash after each use and dry immediately . Do not leave blade wet or sitting in water.
  • It is recommended to lightly oil the blade before storing to prevent any surface rust. I recommend food grade mineral oil or food grade beeswax, which can be found at most grocery stores and pharmacies. To oil, put a small amount of oil on a rag or paper towel and gently wipe down the blade, coating with a thin coat of oil. Gently wipe off any excess oil before storing.
  • High carbon steel will patina over time. It is normal to see the colors change over time with use, especially when used on acidic foods like citrus, tomato, or onion.
  • When cutting acidic foods like onion, you may notice some discoloration on the food at the cut. This is the result of oxidation and is not harmful. This is normal with acidic foods and as the patina sets in, it will lessen over time.
